Sea Salt Eatery is Open!

April 7, 2008

Hooray!!

After a long, dreary, cold, snowy and downright depressing winter, our favorite summer restaurant is open again. They opened on Friday, and we actually waited until Saturday evening to have our first taste of spring. And I’m not the only one excited about it.

We started with the Shrimp Cocktail, which were large and fresh and delicious dipped in the house cocktail sauce, and then we each ordered taco’s. Husband ordered the tilapia tacos, I went with the Calamari tacos. Their tacos are awesome. They start with two layers of corn tortillas and load ‘em with the fish, cilantro, some salsa and corn. Sea Salt provides a counter full of hot sauces if you need an extra kick. I added just a few drops of Tabasco to warm up the squid.

And all this talk of Fish reminded me of an article in the Star Tribune’s Taste section last week on Fish. The article covered what to buy and what to eat, both for health and environmental reasons. There were also a couple recipes that looked pretty good as well. And I love fish. It’s easy to cook. And if you avoid fish that’s high in mercury, it’s really good for you.

And if your not a fishy person it’s still wonderful to stop by for some ice cream after a hike along the creek.
