What I’m reading: Minnesota Homegrown Cookbook
June 11, 2008
I picked up a new book the other day after visiting the farmers market because I was inspired to cook local. As you all know, I’m a big advocate for local restaurants and local farmers and local everything. So I had been hearing about his new book and just knew I had to have it.
And the Minnesota Homegrown Cookbook did not disappoint. I haven’t had a chance to make anything from it yet, but it has articles and recipes from some favorite places, including the New Scenic Cafe, Angry Trout Cafe, Cafe Brenda, Heartland, Birchwood Cafe and El Norteno. I know I’m missing a few, forgive me. The recipes vary from soup to entrees to oils, and I can’t wait to dig in a make something
Below are a couple links to my reviews of these favorites….

Mmmm… I love El Norteno. I don’t know why I don’t go there more often.
