It’s time for another Friday Five. These posts have been so popular, I’ve decided to do them every month, on the Final Friday. And fortunately, this Final Friday is just in time for the Minnesota State Fair. It opened yesterday (Yay!) and I’m going tomorrow (Yippee). So, in honor of the fair, I’m asking you, what are your Five Favorite Fair Foods.
Mine are:
1. Deep-Fried Pickles
2. Cotton Candy
3. Foot-long Hot Dog with Fried Onions
4. Any Form of Taco
5. Real Root Beer
Now it’s your turn….
1. Deep friend Reese’s Peanut Butter cups
2. Deep friend Reese’s Peanut Butter cups
3. Deep friend Reese’s Peanut Butter cups
4. Deep friend Reese’s Peanut Butter cups

5-martha’s cookies!

3. french fries
4. pork chop on a stick
5. foot long hot dog
I haven’t been there in a few years but I can think of a few favorites

3. Caramel apples
4. Funnelcakes
5. Can’t think of a fifth, so I’ll just say mini-donuts – again!!

–Sweet Martha’s cookies
–Roasted Corn
–Foot long
–Taco (back in the day, the best was down near the coliseum)
–Cheese Curds
These lists make me sad we didn’t get to the fair this year 🙂
My favorites:
1. Funnel Cake
2. Cotton Candy
3. Cheesecake-on-a-stick
4. Fried Cheese Curds
5. Candy Apple (with nuts!)
1. Bottomless cup o’ milk
2. Australian potatoes
3. Roasted corn on the cob
4. Pork chop on a stick
5. Blackberry milkshake in the dairy barn, after staring mesmerized at all the creepy butter heads
Basically I just listed the order in which my friends and I used to hit those booths—we’d make a beeline for the milk first, and then since the Aussie potatoes were right across the way, that was next. Sigh. I miss the Fair.
For the record, I *don’t* recommend the key lime pie on a stick; my friends and I tried it the first year it was there, and all four of us had…well, very obvious visual evidence that the pie had gone bad under the chocolate. We exchanged them for new ones, and those had gone off, too. Blegh.
In no particular order:
1. indian tacos
2. sweet potato fries
3. milk
4. pronto pups
5. I’ve only been 3 times in my life so I have limited experience as one can only eat so much per visit but I’ve always wanted to try sweet martha’s cookies as well as one of the deep fried candy bars.
[…] for all your favorite Fair Foods last week! There was such a huge variety of favorites, most notably Cheese Curds, Cotton Candy and Mini-Donuts. […]
1. Pronto pup (not a corn dog!)
2. Thom Thumb mini-donuts
3. Roasted corn
4. Milk shakes or ice cream of any kind in the dairy barn
5. And then another pronto pup!
