It’s already December 14 and I haven’t even started my holiday baking. Augh! I’m so behind. Meanwhile, I thought I’d procrastinate even longer by showing you this great book that belonged to my Great Aunt. Every year she baked a traditional holiday cookie called BerlinerKranser.
Now that I have her Cooky Book I feel obligation and honored to bake a batch to share with the family. I’ll post a photo just as soon as I can get ’em done!
i love this book! i found a reproduction (meaning recently republished) of it a few years ago. i have childhood memories of the photos and illustrations… but i don’t remember the cookies!
i have this!! and i love it!!
Just found your blog – terrific! This book was a childhood favorite, too, and my mom gave me an edition for Christmas. As a kid, I would just look and look at the photos . . . the first food photography that captured my imagination! My first Snickerdoodles were made with this book’s recipe (when I was age 10!).
